3 Must Have Writing Resources

3 Must Have Writing Resources

Improve your writing with these three writing resources

Writers are always looking for ways to improve in their craft. Let's face it. Writing is not easy. If it were... I won't bother finishing that statement. You already know what I'm thinking. Here are three writing resources you simply must bookmark and keep close at hand if you want to be a top-notch writer.

  1. The Internet Public Library - Whether you're writing urban fiction or your dissertation, you have to conduct research. The best writing resource for conducting research is to have a librarian in your pocket. Since that's just not possible, how about bookmarking the Internet Public Library. The Internet Public Library is free to everyone and is full of information you can use. Search for everything from magazine and news articles to books and literature for teens. Keeping facts close at hand helps any writer to produce better work.]

  2. How to Use English Punctuation Correctly - Most writers of English have issues with punctuation. Yet, punctuation is arguably the most important part of writing. A misplaced comma can change the entire meaning of a sentence. Visit Cybertext for some examples of how important commas can be. How to Use English Punctuation Correctly is a writing resource that helps you attack your misuse of commas and other punctuation to create clean, clear copy.

  3. Evil Editor - If you want to know why you're not getting published, this is the blog for you. Evil Editor takes a tongue-in-cheek look at writing and editing to help authors improve their chances of getting published. While this may not be a traditional writing resource, it does what a friend of mine calls "cracking but facting." Sometimes it's easier to hear about our writing flaws with a bit a humor mixed in.

Check out these writing resources and let me know if there are others that you have discovered. Check back for more writing tips and resources.
